Summer Conditions Prevail

Aug 9, 2016   //   by Glen Meyer   //   Trail Conditions  //  No Comments
Late summer conditions prevail on the mountain.
No snow crossing are present along the trail
all the way to the summit and most stream beds
that cross the trail are dry. The snowfield
has large snowless sections making descending
the snowfield an off trail scramble (we
recommend descending via the trail back to
the Timp saddle). Wild flowers are at or near
peak colors. A heard of approximately 40
mountain goats, including several baby goats,
have been enjoyed recently (from a distance)
by hikers in the upper basins
